What Aetheris is
Aetheris is an independent student project about the state of the environment in Kazakhstan. It is not an official monitoring service and does not speak for any government body.
Some figures are live readings from open data services, some are modelled estimates, and some are reports from residents. Each is marked; see the methodology. Modelled values are estimates, not measurements.
Not for emergencies or safety decisions
Do not rely on the site to decide whether something is safe. In an emergency call 112. For official air-quality and pollution data, use the bodies responsible for it.
Your reports
- Describe what you saw yourself, as accurately as you can.
- Do not include other people’s personal data — names, phone numbers, car plates, private addresses.
- Do not use reports to insult or threaten anyone, or to advertise.
Statuses describe what happened to a report, not whether it is true: none of them means that a report was checked or confirmed.
By filing a report you agree that it is shown publicly on the site and may be forwarded as described in the privacy policy.
What the team may do
Remove a report or an event that breaks these rules or the law, without notice; forward reports to the bodies named in their status; change or stop the service.
No guarantees
The data may be incomplete, late or wrong, and the site may be unavailable. The project is run on a best-effort basis.
